Rains in Brazil hit Arabica stockpiles, according to media reports

 

Media reports indicate that torrential rains in Brazil have delayed the harvest and compromised the quality of Arabica coffee.

Up to 20% of production may have been washed away by the rainfall, compared to the usual 5–7%.

Securing the best Arabica beans could prove more difficult for both high-end coffee producers and their customers, according to these reports.

The situation is particularly concerning because Arabica stockpiles in certified warehouses are near historic lows, while futures prices have risen by approximately 35% since June.
